First Time Renting Self-Storage in Petaling Jaya?
How much space do you actually need?
Think in terms of what you're storing, not square footage. A few boxes and seasonal items fit in the smallest unit size. A studio or 1-bedroom's worth of furniture usually needs a mid-size unit. A full house, office, or business inventory calls for the largest unit a facility offers. Most operators will help you size it correctly if you're not sure — it's worth asking before you book.
How access and payment usually work
Storage is typically billed monthly, and some operators ask for a security deposit — long-term lock-in contracts are increasingly rare. You deal with the operator directly: asia.storage doesn't add any markup or booking fee on top of their price. Access hours vary by facility — check the Opening Hours section on this page for the exact hours here.
What You Should Know About Storage in Petaling Jaya
Petaling Jaya's storage facilities cluster in SS2 and Damansara Utama (Uptown), Subang Jaya, and Kelana Jaya. A major local driver is generational: older PJ households downsizing from landed houses into condos need somewhere for furniture that no longer fits, alongside SME document storage and furniture storage between tenancies in the area's large rental belt. PJ has one of the highest concentrations of older landed housing in Malaysia, which gives it a different demand profile from newer condo-to-condo markets elsewhere.
